Made from ZnSe (zinc selenide) one of the few 10.6μm transmissible materials. II-VI Infrared is grown in the USA through the technic known as CVD Chemical Vapor Deposition. PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) is another technical for growing ZnSe crystals but is inferior for CO2 optical applications.
High efficiency, double-sided AR (Anti-Reflection) coating results in high transmission of 99.5.
